PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This webinar will feature two Psychology of Sport Injury experts who will discuss current theory and research as it relates to injured athletes navigating the rehabilitation landscape. In addition, applications of the theory and research will be made to clinical practices, with a specific focus on the role of e-Therapies in sport rehabilitation.

Britton Brewer, Ph.D., CC-AASP, will begin the webinar with a discussion of theory and research on the relationship between psychological factors and sport injury rehabilitation outcomes.

Jordan Hamson-Utley, Ph.D., will then discuss evidence-based practice guidelines on working with injured athletes and performers. She will discuss the implementation of e-Therapies in the form of mobile applications including mobile phones, iPods/iPads, and other tablet devices.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Britton Brewer, Ph.D., CC-AASP, is a Professor of Psychology at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate psychology courses and conducts research on psychological aspects of sport injury.

Jordan Hamson-Utley, Ph.D., is a certified athletic trainer who has worked with athletes from all levels, including the United States men's and women's soccer teams and Olympic athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Jordan is an assistant professor teaching in the athletic training education programs at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where she continues her research on examining the effects of psychological strategies on physiological biomarkers associated with symptom resolution and return to play in injured athletes.
