Overcoming Obstacles with AASP Grant Founders Carole Oglesby, Marjorie Snyder, and Deborah Slaner Larkin Madam Athlete

    • Careers

On this episode I’m talking to Carole Oglesby, Marjorie Snyder, and Deborah Slaner Larkin, the creators of the Oglesby-Snyder Grant for Equity and Cultural Diversity through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
Carole, Marj, and Deborah have been leaders in women’s sports for decades, with careers stretching from academia to advocacy to C-Suite positions. They’ve helped change the perception of women in sports by conducting and sourcing compelling research and using that data to tell the story. Their research and advocacy showed that women and girls were just as interested in sports and helped drive changes at all levels of participation. This new grant, named for Carole and Marj and brought to life by Deborah, seeks to fund researchers and their work on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
